Lifetime Achievements
'Bob Troup'
The
Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce honors some of its leading
individuals, groups, and businesses of the past year.
During
its annual meeting Thursday, the Chamber announced its 2010-2011 Award Winners.
This
year's Lifetime Achievement Award Winner is Bob Troup. Troup said the award
comes as a complete surprise.
"That
is an award I did not expect and I do not think anybody deserves, but I am
quite honored and humbled by it," said Troup.
Troup
is currently serving in his third term as a Toccoa City Commissioner. In
addition, he has served as mayor three times. He has also served on many
government, non-profit, and civic boards. Troup also operated the family
business, Troup's Photo, in downtown Toccoa, for many years.
The
Lifetime Achievement Award has been presented since 2000. It is designed to
honor someone who has represented the spirit of the Chamber throughout life, as
well as shown excellence in both the professional and public service sectors.
